Eli Reed, 1992 W. Eugene Smith Fund Grant Recipient

Eli Reed of New York was awarded the grant for his long-term yet timely project: “Going Home, Crisis in Black America.” He continues to portray the different situations of African-Americans in all walks of life, and attempts to show the directions in which they are going. Reed is the first recipient of the award to have extensive newspaper experience, as well as being a Neiman Fellow for study at Harvard.
